How To Keep Yourself From Overdoing Cannabis

If you want to start using medical marijuana, then there are quite a few dispensaries throughout the country that you can purchase from. And, if you are using cannabis for the first time, then you likely want to avoid overdoing it. If you do take too much, then you may experience some less-than-pleasant side effects. Keep reading to learn what they are and how you can avoid them.

What Are The Side Effects Of Too Much Cannabis?

The consumption of too much cannabis is often referred to as a green out. When this happens, the receptors in the brain that are activated by the cannabis are overwhelmed, and this is likely to produce an unpleasant experience for you.

You will typically feel an overwhelming feeling of anxiety and you may experience similar symptoms as a panic or anxiety attack. An elevated heart rate, a feeling of dread, and the tightening of the chest are common occurrences. This feeling may also be accompanied by paranoia and intrusive thoughts.

Once the initial feelings of anxiety wear off, then you may start to feel sleepy and lethargic. You may find it extremely difficult to concentrate or feel disorientated. A dry mouth and some sweating may occur as well.

The symptoms of over-consumption can last for several hours, and depending on how much cannabis you consumed, you may even feel under the weather for the next day or two.

How Do You Avoid Over-Consumption Of Cannabis?

The easiest way to avoid the over-consumption of cannabis is to work with the budtender at your local dispensary. Specifically, you want to ask about the different kinds of cannabis that are sold and how much THC is contained in each one. You want to start with a variety with a low THC level. And, when you purchase the marijuana, use a traditional pipe or roll a marijuana cigarette. While some people like the smooth inhalation offered with water pipes, you may inhale too aggressively at first. When you are ready, take two to three inhalations of the cannabis and then wait 15 to 30 minutes to see how it affects you.

You want to stay away from edibles in most cases when you first start purchasing marijuana. THC is concentrated in these treats, and it can be extremely difficult to find the right dose.

If you want to know more about cannabis, speak with a professional at a cannabis dispensary.

About Me

Skiing Is More Than Just A Sport

Thanks for stopping by! I'm Kristy Riley. Some of my best experiences in my life have been skiing trips. I do enjoy skiing, but what I love the most is the scenery that I get to enjoy while skiing. I also love the scenery when rafting, hiking and with all of the other fun activities I have enjoyed with my friends over the years. It feels like not enough people enjoy everything that the world has to offer, often because they are not aware of what is out there. For this reason, I created this fun little blog where you can learn all about sports and recreation from me, based on my personal experiences.
